Unique DIY Fall Wreath

Unique DIY Fall Wreath

Every fall I love to spend time creating with some of the beautiful fall tones we see around us. The changing leaves, change in colors of summer flowers to autumn and winter flowers, reminds us of the season changing and I love to sit in the moment and enjoy it as long as it will last.

Last week, I created this simple and fun fall wreath for the shop. Each season I try to dry as many leftover flowers as I can so that I have some fun and unique ingredients to work with in the fall and winter for wreaths, dried arrangements or just for unique elements to add to my weekly bouquets. Read on below to find out how I made this unique fall wreath.

PEACE WREATH

Fall Pampas Grass and Eucalyptus Peace Wreath

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

Wreath Form

Binded Wire

Dried Eucalyptus (Fresh if you want a nice fragrance indoors)

Pampas Grass

Jute or String

Wire Cutters

Floral Snips

HOW TO:

1. Select the size of your wreath by selecting the wreath form. There are many different types of wreath forms from 2” diameter to 18” diameter or bigger. But keep in mind that when selecting your frame, you will want it to be smaller than the overall size space you have available; since your flowers or foliage will extend beyond your wreath frame. For this wreath I used a simple gold frame so it had very little support behind it and allowed me to use less product.

2. Prep your ingredients. Clip your pampas grass into smaller sections down the stem. For this wreath I used pieces that were approximately 3-6 inches in length. Set aside when done.

3. Take your Eucalyptus or similar ingredient and lay it on your frame. We need to create 3 pieces that reach from the frame to the center to create the classic peace sign look. Using bind wire, wire cutters and floral clippers arrange your eucalyptus and twist wire to attach to your frame.

4. Next select a point to begin on your frame. Take small bunches of your pampas grass, gather together and twist tie them to your frame using your binded wire.

5. Continue working your way around the wreath frame, fastening your pampas grass every few inches until you make it all the way around your frame and it is completely covered.

6. Attach a jute loop to the top of your frame so you can hang it and Enjoy!
